Commissioner Doak to Host Insurance Day at Oklahoma State Capitol 

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner John D. Doak has invited Oklahoma consumers to attend Insurance Day at the state Capitol. The event is set for April 3 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on the 4^th floor rotunda. 

“This is a great opportunity for Oklahomans to learn more about the insurance options available to them,” said Doak. “Our knowledgeable staff can discuss the benefits of earthquake insurance, explain available discounts for home and auto policies and help resolve claim issues.” 

Representatives from the Consumer Assistance Division, Anti-Fraud Unit, Medicare Assistance Program and other Oklahoma Insurance Department (OID) divisions will be available to speak with consumers. In addition to speaking with OID experts, consumers can pick up an Insurance Consumers Bill of Rights, a home inventory flash drive and the OID’s Post-Disaster Recovery Guide. 

“The flash drive has all you need to create a home inventory, which saves you so much time and money after a catastrophic loss,” said Doak. “The Post-Disaster Recovery Guide is also a great resource. We hope you never need it, but if you do, it can walk you through the claim process, step by step and point out potential pitfalls. Now is a great time to get prepared for severe weather season.”
