At the April Governor’s Council meeting, Governor Mary Fallin addressed a packed house on a variety of topics involving Oklahoma’s economy.
Gov. Fallin spoke on the success of OKJobMatch.com, including the growing number of Oklahomans taking advantage of the service.
Gov. Fallin also talked about GE’s plans to build a new research center in the Oklahoma City metro area as well as other recent economic success stories.
OKJobMatch.com, the free job matching website launched last spring by the Oklahoma Department of Commerce, is now open to employers searching for their next employee.
The new function allows employers to build a job description from scratch using an easy to understand question-and-answer format, post their job and begin connecting with the tens of thousands of active job seekers currently on OKJobMatch.com. Read More
In February 2013, Oklahoma’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate decreased by 0.1% to 5.0%. Since February 2012, the state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate has contracted by 0.3%. Read More

Newly named Deputy Director for the office of Policy and Workforce Services, Deidre Myers, will be speaking at the Norman Economic Development Council’s 2013 Summit.
