The mission of the Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities Agency is to ensure individuals with disabilities achieve quality employment, independence and disability determination outcomes.

What's Inside:

Wheelersburg Open House

Wheelersburg Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
Kevin Miller, Executive Director; Mark Fay, SW Area Manager; Mary Armstead, VR Supervisor; and David Hayden, Porter Township Trustee, cutting the ribbon at the new Wheelersburg office

The Wheelersburg regional office held an Open House this week to formally celebrate the move from Portsmouth to their new location. Neighbors, community partners, and local officials stopped by to tour the facilities and Porter Township Trustee David Hayden was on hand for the ribbon cutting ceremony.

Thanks to the staff in Wheelersburg, and in central office, for the hard work that went into making the move a success.  It was great to see the results of their hard work in person and talk with staff about the work they are doing in the community.  I also appreciated the opportunity to talk with our partners in the community about how we can work together to better serve individuals with disabilities.

Ohio Fiscal Academy

Robin Gorham Ohio Fiscal Academy
Robin Gorham receives her certificate from OBM Director Tim Keen

Robin Gorham, Budget Analyst II, recently graduated from the Ohio Fiscal Academy (OFA), a one year program that provides operational, theoretical, and hands-on experience for the State of Ohio’s public financial professionals.  OFA participants earn the designation of “Certified Ohio Fiscal Professional” by the Office of Budget and Management.

Robin appreciated the opportunity the OFA provided:

“Participating in OFA gave me the opportunity to network and learn from a broad range of people in various fiscal capacities from all different agencies.  Legislators, Chief Financial Officers, and Directors came discussed, listened, and worked with participants to uncover potential solutions to fiscal challenges.  Participating certainly gave me a more extensive view of public finance.”

Congratulations Robin and thanks for your continued dedication to public service.
