Butler, Ohio (Thursday, May 15, 2025) – Construction of a single-lane roundabout at the intersection of state Route 122 and Elk Creek Road is scheduled to begin next month, and a 90-day closure will be implemented on Monday, June 2.
Contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation will close S.R. 122, between Hursh Road and S.R. 744 (Middletown Oxford Road), from June 2 until Monday, September 1.
During closure, traffic will be detoured via S.R. 122, S.R. 725 and S.R. 503 in Preble County, S.R. 73 and S.R. 4. A local detour will also be provided for Elk Creek Road motorists.
Kelchner, Inc. was awarded a contract in the amount of $1.78 million to complete the project, and all work associated with the project is scheduled to be completed in the fall of this year.
