Training for Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators

New England Interstate Water Pollution Control Commission (NEIWPCC) is providing three training programs this fall for New York Wastewater Operators.  Register for the training at NEIWPCC's website: http://www.neiwpcc.org/training/calendar.asp.

1.  Operation and Maintenance of Wastewater Collection Systems:  Tuesday, November 4-Thursday, November 6, 2014.  This program provides training on the proper management, operation, and maintenance of wastewater collection systems.  The program is scheduled from 8:30 am-3:30 pm each day and will be held at the Syracuse Metro Wastewater Treatment Plant in Syracuse.  Following the completion on the training on November 6, the Voluntary Collection System Certification exam will be offered.  Interested exam candidates must submit a application to the New York Water Environment Association (NYWEA).  Application information is available at http://nywea.org/training/col-cert.cfm.

2. Wastewater Pumps and Hydraulics:  Friday, November 7, 2014.  This program covers the operation, maintenance, and hydraulic principles of centrifugal pumps.  The program is scheduled to run from 8:30 am - 3:30 pm and will be held at the Sherrill Town Hall in Sherrill.

3. Train the Trainer:  Wednesday, December 10-Thursday,December 11, 2014.  Participants will gain an understanding of the basic characteristics of adult learners, the ways to overcome resistance to learning, and the instructor's role in the success of the training experience.  This program does meet the Train the Trainer requirements to become a certified in-plant DEC trainer.  This program runs from 8:30 am-3:30 pm each day is will be held at the Village of Clinton Wastewater Facility.
