Dear Climate Smart Community Leader:

This is to remind you that our Climate Smart Communities webinar entitled EPA Tools for Local Governments will take place next Thursday, February 13, 2014 at 10:30 AM.

The US Environmental Protection Agency has developed a suite of tools that is available to assist local governments in assessing their energy use and emissions and translating them into health impacts and other meaningful metrics to facilitate communication with the public. In this webinar, staff from USEPA's State and Local Climate and Energy Program and ENERGY STAR Program will walk attendees through the following tools:

·         Local Government GHG Inventory Tool (an Excel-based tool that helps build an inventory of emissions from government operations and/or community wide activity)

·         Co Benefits Risk Assessment Model (allows users to estimate/map the air quality, health, and related economic benefits (excluding energy cost savings) at county, state, regional, and national levels)

·         GHG Equivalencies Calculator (converts CO2 savings into easily understandable terms (vehicles, trees planted, etc) to improve communications

·         Portfolio Manager (an online tool for measuring and tracking energy and water consumption and greenhouse gas emissions in a single building or a whole portfolio of buildings)

 (See agenda attached)

The webinar will be accessible to anyone via an Internet connection and telephone. Webinar participants must use the telephone call-in number; no audio signal will be transmitted over the Internet.
