Dear Climate Smart Community Leader:

Our next Climate Smart Communities webinar will take place Thursday, November 14, 2013 at 10:30 AM with a presentation entitledAdvancing Solar Power with NY-Sun”.

The NY-Sun Initiative will invest $800 million through 2015 to expand solar photovoltaic (PV) deployment, advance solar-power technology, and reduce solar balance-of-system costs, including installation. As part of this program, the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) provides cash incentives for the installation of new residential or commercial (including municipal) grid-connected solar electric or photovoltaic systems that are 25kW or less for residential, and 200 kW or less for commercial (including municipal) sites. NYSERDA has also invited proposals for the installation of customer-sited solar projects of greater than 200 kW. (See PONS 2112 and 2589 at www.nyserda.ny.gov.)

This webinar will include explanations of these funding opportunities and a presentation on streamlined photovoltaic permitting under the Cleaner, Greener Communities program. The webinar will close with a presentation on Solarize Madison, a community-focused renewable energy program to streamline the solar installation process and enjoy reduced equipment costs through bulk purchasing.

The webinar will be accessible to anyone via an Internet connection and telephone. Webinar participants must use the telephone call-in number; no audio signal will be transmitted over the Internet.

To join the webinar, go to
http://www.webdialogs.com, click the “Join a meeting” button and enter Conference ID 58089 in the “Meeting Login” screen. On your telephone, dial 1-866-394-2346 and enter conference call code 1982360347# when prompted.

Please respond with both your name and community affiliation via either e-mail or telephone to the Office of Climate Change at
