Correction: Webinar will be held on January 13th to inform applicants on Great Lakes funding opportunity and process.

On January 13th, the bi-national public-private partnership, Sustain Our Great Lakes, will host a webinar to inform applicants of the upcoming 2016 funding opportunity to restore and enhance habitat in the Great Lakes basin. The Request for Proposals will be announced on January 6th, 2016, and will be available at www.sustainourgreatlakes.org. In 2016, grant funding will be awarded in two categories:

  • Stream and riparian habitat
  • Coastal wetlands

Eligible applicants include non-profit organizations, educational institutions, and tribal and local governments. Pre-proposals will be due on February 17, 2016. Webinar participants will learn about funding priorities and the application process, see examples of past projects, receive tips for submitting competitive proposals, and have the opportunity to ask questions. The webinar will begin at 11 AM Eastern Time/10 AM Central Time on January 13th, 2016 and last for approximately 1 hour. Participants can register at https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/7075001454201702402. A recording of the webinar will be available for viewing at www.sustainourgreatlakes.org following the conclusion of the live program.

New York organizations interested in applying for this funding opportunity are encouraged to discuss proposed projects in advance of applying with DEC regional natural resources or Great Lakes program staff as appropriate.
