To schedule a COVID-19 test or register for the COVID-19 vaccination go to: https://cvtestreg.nmhealth.org/.
Covan Testing is set up at Tom Tenorio Park, 2900 Arenal Rd. SW, 87121 and Northwest Medical Center, 6463 Fourth St. NW, Los Ranchos, 87107. Testing Mon. - Sat. from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Pre-registration at www.covantesting.com Lab result within 24 hours.
This is a public test site and anyone can get tested. Preference will be given to people exhibiting coronavirus (COVID-19) symptoms; however, asymptomatic people can be tested as well.
Asymptomatic means that a person is experiencing no symptoms or evidence of illness or abnormality.
All individuals 75 years of age and older, individuals 16 or older with underlying medical conditions that place them at greater risk from COVID-19, frontline essential workers who cannot work remotely, and vulnerable populations.
New Mexicans may now order free, at-home, self-administered COVID-19 saliva tests, with accurate laboratory-confirmed results returned within 24-48 hours of receipt of the sample.
The free tests are available to New Mexico residents regardless of exposure risk– whether they are symptomatic or asymptomatic, and whether they have come into close contact with a confirmed COVID-19 positive individual or not.
Any New Mexican with access to online video-conferencing through Zoom can receive a test at home, self-administer the test with a virtual testing supervisor through a secure Zoom, and mail the sample back for laboratory processing, all free of charge.
The breakthrough in testing convenience for New Mexicans is a result of a public-private partnership between the state and Vault Health.
To order a test, and for more information, visit learn.vaulthealth.com/nm/.
Do you know the difference between self-isolation and self-quarantine?

Snow is in the forecast!
Stay informed about winter road conditions at
Bernalillo County is diverse in its beauty - and it's also diverse in its weather conditions.
What could be a beautiful day in the South Valley could be a snow-packed day in the East Mountains or other areas.
During business hours and after hours, the regular main number (505) 848-1503 is the most direct access to the maintenance district supervisors. Call this phone number when you want to report a road that requires maintenance. As always, please call 911 when it is an emergency.
There are four separate maintenance districts, North Valley, South Valley, North Mountain and South Mountain Districts. In the mountain districts, the dividing line is Old 66 (NM 333), not Interstate 40.
For information on roads statewide, including interstates and major roads, the State of New Mexico's Department of Transportation has several ways to access information. The Road Advisory Hotline is available 24/7 by calling 511. You can also visit http://nmroads.com for an interactive map of road conditions and to sign up for email/text alerts, or download the mobile app at http://m.nmroads.com

Urges Community Participation in Broadband Survey
Commissioner Charlene Pyskoty is focused on addressing the unique challenges of bringing expanded broadband internet services to the East Mountains within Bernalillo County, which includes the Village of Tijeras. Broadband speed and reliability have long been a concern of area residents, but the issue has become urgent with the coronavirus (COVID-19) public health emergency as households use multiple devices to perform work and attend school online.
“Broadband service is simply insufficient to meet the needs of residents, parents, students and businesses in the East Mountains, especially when multiple devices are in use at the same time in the same household,” says Commission Chair Charlene Pyskoty. “Our low-density population and mountainous terrain make it a complicated problem to solve, but I am committed to finding a technological solution and the funding to implement it.”
Bernalillo County requires direct community insights on current service, usage and cost to make a persuasive case for state and federal funding. To that end, community surveys are being conducted jointly by Bernalillo County and the Village of Tijeras. The brief surveys are for residents, business owners, and essential community facilities in ZIP code 87059, the portion of the East Mountains in Bernalillo County. Community members are urged to respond to the appropriate survey by Jan. 31, 2021 at midnight.

The Bernalillo County Arts Board solicits a call for artists to propose conceptual sketch ideas for outdoor sculptures to be located along highly visible avenues and boulevards within Bernalillo County, New Mexico.
Regional artists residing in New Mexico, Oklahoma, Utah, Arizona, Colorado and Texas are invited to propose conceptual mid-size sculptures. The call for art opened Dec. 1, 2020. The deadline is Jan. 29, 2021.
The project, aptly named “Outposts,” is conceived by the Bernalillo County Arts Board and evolved from an idea of combining the duality of the communities of Bernalillo County and the Southwestern region to include the co-existence of mountains and the valley, the urban and the rural communities, the monsoon season and the dry season and the ancient and modern cultures of the area.
The artworks for Phase II will be installed near highly visited tourist and local attractions within Bernalillo County and the city of Albuquerque, such as the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta Park and the Rio Grande Valley State Park. Read More....

The Strategic Plan is the county’s 2-year plan that captures what departments are doing to support the strategic plan goals…each with key focus areas from planning for emergencies to expanding online services. The county follows the performance process across the 2-years to ensure we are measuring what matters and making that data available to the community.
