Dog rabies confirmed in Aberdeen/Cliffwood section 

This week, the NJ Department of Health confirmed that a family dog from Aberdeen tested positive for rabies. Residents from the Aberdeen/Cliffwood section, who may have been bitten by a dog in the past three weeks, should contact the Health Department immediately at 732-431-7456 ext. 8580. The Health Department is also seeking information about pit bull puppies from the area too. Get more information.

Hand washing helps to prevent illnesses

Due to an increase in recent reports of gastrointestinal illnesses, the Health Department encourages adults and children to stay home if ill and to be diligent about hand washing especially after using the bathroom and before eating. Read the press release.


“The best way to protect yourself from illness is to practice proper hand washing and general cleanliness,” said Christopher Merkel, Monmouth County Public Health Coordinator.
