Special Gathering for Charter School Leaders - Survey Response Needed
NCDPI will hold the Collaborative Conference for Student Achievement (CCSA) at the Koury Convention Center in Greensboro, NC on March 21-23. This unique professional development opportunity will feature 250 sessions with tracks for K-12 learning standards, K-12 online and blended learning structures, policy, research, accountability, student engagement, State technology resources, Home Base, and more.
The Office of Charter Schools (OCS) will be hosting a full day (morning and afternoon focus sessions) at the CCSA to provide an opportunity for charter school leaders to come together to learn and network. Please help us in designing the agenda for these special charter schools "focus sessions" so that they meet your needs! To this end, we ask that you please respond to these four questions by Thursday, January 28, 2016.

Advanced Learning Academically Gifted (AIG) - Interest Survey Deadline Extended
The NCDPI Division of Advanced
Learning hosted a webinar designed specifically for charter school audiences on
November 30, 2015 who were interested
in developing an official AIG program.
The following was covered during the webinar:

Charter Schools and AIG possibilities
- Introduced the SBE-revised NC AIG Program
Standards.
- The local AIG Plan process as it relates to
Charters (including plan and program development, implementation, monitoring,
and evaluation).

NC School Report Card: Data Preview Period Extended
We encountered some technical difficulties with the 2014-15 report card data preview. As a
result, the data preview period has been extended from yesterday
afternoon until Monday, January 25, at 5:00 p.m. You may view the
site by accessing this link: https://ncreportcardstest.ondemand.sas.com/landing.html. The
data in the report card are considered preliminary and should not be made
public, so we ask that you DO NOT RELEASE THIS URL TO ANYONE
OUTSIDE OF YOUR SCHOOLS. This is a test site and information
and data are subject to change. If you cannot view the SRC in your preferred
browser, for the data preview please use Chrome.
How to Submit a Data Question/Issue During Data Preview:
- Contact the SRC Coordinator for your LEA or Charter
School. NCDPI will only accept questions from the SRC Coordinator.
Please note that the NC Department of Public Instruction will not accept
requests for corrections from schools that did not meet deadlines for
submitting data at the local level or submitted it incorrectly.
HELPFUL HINTS FOR SUBMITTING YOUR DATA QUESTIONS/ISSUES:
- Please do not wait to submit all of your
questions/corrections at the end of the review period.
- Submit your questions as you encounter them.
- This review is for 2014-15 Report Cards data only.
Issues will not be accepted for prior years’ data.

- Highly Qualified Teachers
- Teacher/Principal Effectiveness
- College Course Completion
- Digital Access and Library Media
- Snapshot (Updated with HQT data)
