Construction has begun on renovating Exchange and Market plazas. Follow us on Instagram for updated photos of the project.

The City of Raleigh is redesigning the two plazas to create more flexible and modern new spaces. The improvements include new concrete paving, benches and seat walls, updated planters, improved site lighting, shade structures, and screen enclosures, as well as new stormwater drainage system, irrigation system and water and electrical service. The Construction Management Division of the City’s Public Works Department is overseeing the project; Holt Brothers is the general contractor.

The construction is expected to last five months. During this period, pedestrian use of Exchange and Market plazas will be restricted. However, safe access to nearby businesses will be maintained at all times.
