You Asked For It...New Sheet Index is on the Way!

We've heard feedback from you, our valued customers, that the sheet index, one of the required forms for any project submitted for plan review through our OnSchedule or Mega programs, is not user-friendly. We're happy to announce that we'll soon be introducing a new sheet index that should improve the customer experience substantially.

The frustration that we most frequently heard from customers is that the current version of the sheet index, which is a fillable PDF, is labor-intensive. The table where sheets are numbered and listed, below, has to be typed directly into the form or copied and pasted from another source, cell by cell, block by block. On larger projects, when the number of sheets can reach into the hundreds, the task became significantly time-consuming.

Some customers also reported issues with the file depending on the version of software or opearting system in use.

To make the sheet index more user-friendly, we will soon be changing to a version of the document built in Excel. This new document should prove much more flexible. For example, if desired, the form can be downloaded and saved onto a shared network drive, where multiple staff who are working on the same project can enter text. Best of all, large blocks of information can be copied and pasted into the new sheet index, as with any Excel document.
