Early Mornings with Elizabeth: Food Justice and Sustainable Food Systems
Early Mornings with Elizabeth!
Friday, September 27, 7:30am - 9am
Turtle Bread, 4762 Chicago Ave S
Join your neighbors for a great conversation about food justice and sustainable living. We will also learn about the Seward Coop’s proposal to build a second full-service grocery store, The Friendship Store, across the street from Sabathani Community Center in the Bryant neighborhood. This property is for sale by the Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.
What is a co-op and how can a co-op structure benefit community? How does food justice and sustainable food access impact health and wellness and neighborhood economic development?
We are excited to welcome LaDonna Redmond, the Marketing Outreach & Education Coordinator for the Seward Co-op Friendship Site, Central neighbor Greg McMoore, founder of Happy Acres Produce, and a representative of the Latino Grower’s Association.
