Missouri receives federal grant to help small businesses engage in exporting

The U.S. Small Business Administration awarded the Missouri Department of Economic Development (DED) $599,000 through its STEP program to help small businesses enter and succeed in the international marketplace.  Missouri will use STEP award funds to support eligible small business expansion of sector specific exports to Central and South America and the Middle East. In addition, STEP award funds will be used to increase exports in Missouri’s high priority markets of Colombia, Panama, Peru and the UAE.  DED's International Trade & Investment Office will be traveling throughout the state on a 10-city road tour to encourage small businesses to participate in the MO STEP program.
