The event is Saturday, August 29 at 9 a.m. The race starts at the Grand Lake Volunteer Fire Department on Highway 53 and Canosia Road in Twig.

Organized by St. Louis County's Human Resources Department, the race is open to the public. It's goal is to support and encourage greater health and wellness of all employees, families, friends and neighbors. This year, the race also honors Steve O'Neil, Dave Fremling, and all those who serve or have served the public.

Entry fee for the 5K is $15 for all public employees and their families, and $25 for anyone else who wants to join in the fun. The one-mile kids race, open to children ages 11 and younger, is free.
