Notice of Vacancies in State Boards, Councils and Committees

January 4, 2015 — The Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State today released the January 2015 notice of vacancies for various state boards, councils and committees that are accepting applications, due January 27, 2015. Minnesotans are encouraged to apply and serve in demonstration of public service. The full list of vacancies is listed below and online.

Application forms are available online and must be submitted by January 27, 2015, to be assured of full consideration by the appointing authority. Appointing authorities may choose to review applications received by the Secretary of State after January 27.

CURRENT VACANCIES

CULTURAL AND ETHNIC COMMUNITIES LEADERSHIP COUNCIL
Compensation: None
Vacancies: Two Vacancies including one County Provider and one Faith-Based/Spiritual Organization Representative

ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH SPECIALIST/SANITARIAN ADVISORY COUNCIL
Compensation: $55 per diem for nongovernmental members plus expenses
Vacancies: One Vacancy including one Public Member.

GOVERNING COMMITTEE OF THE MINNESOTA AUTOMOBILE INSURANCE PLAN
Compensation: $100 per diem for public members
Vacancies: Two Vacancies including two Public Members.

GOVERNOR'S TASK FORCE ON BROADBAND
Compensation: None
Vacancies: Fifteen Vacancies including Fifteen Members.

GREATER MINNESOTA REGIONAL PARKS AND TRAILS COMMISSION
Compensation: $55 per diem
Vacancies: One Vacancy including one At-Large Member.

MATERNAL AND CHILD HEALTH ADVISORY TASK FORCE
Compensation: Expenses
Vacancies: Four Vacancies including, four Consumer Representatives.

OMBUDSPERSON BOARD FOR ASIAN-PACIFIC FAMILIES
Compensation: None
Vacancies: One Vacancy including; one Member.

STATE BOARD OF PHYSICAL THERAPY
Compensation: $55 per diem
Vacancies: One Vacancy including, one Public Member.

SUBCOMMITTEE ON CHILDREN'S MENTAL HEALTH
Compensation: $55 per diem plus expenses
Vacancies: Fifteen Vacancies including, one Hospital-Based Provider of Mental Health Services to Children with Emotional Disturbances, one Provider of Children’s Mental Health Services to Adolescents, two Members Knowledgeable of Needs of Emotional Disturbances of Minorities and Cultures, three Parents of a Child with Emotional Disturbances, one Member Experienced in Working with Emotionally Disturbed Children, two Former Consumers of Children’s or Adolescent Services, one Provider of Mental Health Services to Preadolescent Children, one Children’s Mental Health Advocacy Groups Representative, one State Advisory Council on Mental Health Representative, one Rural County Commissioner, and one Twin Cities Metro County Commissioner.

The monthly Notice of Vacancies is posted on www.sos.state.mn.us the first Monday of every month and is provided by email to those who subscribe for the notice.

In accordance with the Minnesota Open Appointments Law, the Secretary of State acts as an administrator in publishing vacancies, receiving applications and recording appointments. Applications will be reviewed and appointments made by the appointing authorities; questions about specific vacancies and appointments should be directed to the appointing authority. Applications are kept on file for a one-year period.
