Apprenticeship Week in Minnesota is an opportunity for the apprenticeship community to tell their stories about registered apprenticeship and share with businesses, industry, labor, education, career-seekers, community-based organizations, students and workers the advantages of developing careers through adoption of the apprenticeship model.
Throughout the week the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry will host and share information about events and feature apprentices, community-based organizations and apprenticeship program sponsors.

The Inclusive Workplaces Cohort was launched by Ramsey County and the WIB on October 14. This new initiative supports 17 local employers in becoming more inclusive workplaces to amplify the diversity of our community as a tool for economic growth. These selected Ramsey County employers will participate in a 10-month peer learning cohort while advancing equity and inclusion in their organizations. Each of the employers has made a commitment of executive leadership participation with an agreement to bring about tangible action or policy changes to their organizations. Participating organizations will be featured on social media and in the WIB newsletter each month. This month, we are spotlighting Ehlers Public Finance Advisors and Newtrax.
Workforce Innovation Board of Ramsey County members are appointed by either the Ramsey County Board of Commissioners or the Saint Paul City Council. The County Board recently appointed Shym Cook, Field Operations Manager with DEED.
Welcome, Shym! We look forward to leveraging your skills and experience to advance the WIB's mission.
