First free clinic
scheduled for July 25 in Maplewood
Ramsey County residents with damaged household
and electrical items can receive free help repairing them at new monthly Fix-It
Clinics. Presented by Ramsey County’s Environmental Health division, Fix-It
Clinics reduce waste by saving repairable items that would otherwise be thrown
away.
Skilled on-site volunteers provide
guided assistance disassembling, troubleshooting and fixing items such as
appliances, clothing, fans, electronics and mobile devices. All items must be
small enough to carry. The clinics also provide opportunities to build
community connections while participants learn new skills.
The first Fix-It Clinic will be held at
the Ramsey
County Library in Maplewood on Saturday, July 25 from noon to 3 p.m.
Additional upcoming clinics include:
People with experience in soldering,
electronics and/or electric repair, sewing, woodworking or general tinkering
are strongly encouraged to volunteer.
