Reminder: Sept. 30 meeting on beverage container recycling

The meeting on increasing recycling of beverage containers in Minnesota is Monday, September 30, at 1:00 p.m.

The discussion will focus on the posted draft program design for a recycling refund program. Public comments on the program design will be accepted through November 4, 2013.

The Minnesota Legislature has directed the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) to produce a report that details recommendations for a statewide "recycling refund program" for beverage containers that achieves an 80 percent recycling rate.
