Welcome to Financial Wellbeing
Pre-Work
Let’s start with the prep work.
LEARN:
Having a specific financial goal in mind – even a small or simple one – will provide direction and make this program more meaningful for you. Goals are more powerful when they are SMART: Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Timely.
DO:
- Use the Goals Sheet. It will give you a specific reason to work on your financial goals.
- Imagine your goals. Read Seven Simple Savings Steps.
- Start gathering materials such as pay stubs and bank statements for next week’s module, “Budget Basics.”
- Identify a buddy. A buddy is someone who can help you stay on top of your Financial Wellbeing this month.
MORE:
Tying your goals to a personal value will make them more motivating.
Examples of personal values: health, family, retirement, vacation; think of other values that are important to you. A goal becomes powerful when stated as, “Paying off a loan helps me and my family.”
