Apply now to participate in the second Farm to Child Care
Training of Trainers (TOT), led by Grace Brogan of Renewing the Countryside
through Eager-to-Learn, Child Care Aware’s online learning platform. The class
consists of 3 online chat sessions, scheduled on Monday evenings in late
January-early February 2015, with readings and assignments in between. After
attending this TOT, you will be certified to train child care providers on Farm
to Child Care, which is approved to satisfy SHIP, licensing and Parent Aware
requirements. (You must be an MNCPD-approved trainer or already be in the
process of becoming approved in order to apply to participate in this TOT.)

does a farm to school team function? Learn tips and best practices for building
a farm to school team, facing struggles and surprises, and building a
foundation for a successful project. Guest speakers include farm to school
planning grantees from the District of Springfield Missouri and IDEA Charter
school in the Rio Grande Valley in Texas.

Setting Goals and Establishing an Evaluation Baseline, January 28, 1pm
How
do you know if your activities are having an impact on local farmers and
improving student health? Learn how to integrate program planning/evaluation
tools and techniques that will document outcomes that demonstrate the
importance of farm to school programs.

Over the past 12 years, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
Foundation and the General Mills Foundation has awarded over $6 million in
Champions for Healthy Kids grants to nonprofit organizations across the U.S.
promoting healthy eating and active lifestyles targeted to kids and families.
This year, the General Mills Foundation has committed to offering $1 million in
grants, awarding fifty, $20,000 grants. Applications must involve the program
expertise of an RDN or DTR member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
