Apply now for Active Places funding!

The Center for Prevention at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota has announced that applications for funding for Active Places demonstration projects are being accepted. Active Places demonstration projects are temporary, low-cost projects that aim to build momentum for future, long-term changes within a community.

To qualify for funding, projects must make a community more accessible to all types of physical activity, including walking and biking. Active Places demonstration projects could include popup parks, temporary “bumpouts” at busy intersections and temporary plaza/gathering spaces. To apply for the Active Places funding and review the required materials, visit the Available Funding page.

An optional webinar, which will offer details about demonstration project options and a question-and-answer session, will be held at 12:30 p.m. Jan. 27. The webinar will not include contract requirement information. Applicants are strongly encouraged to participate. Call-in sessions are also available for applicants who can’t participate in the webinar. For more information, visit Available Funding page
