Input Needed ~ Statewide Pedestrian System Plan ~ MNDOT

As part of Minnesota Department of Transportation’s (MnDOT) work to achieve the Minnesota GO Vision, MnDOT has teamed up with the Minnesota Department of Health to develop a Statewide Pedestrian System Plan.

The Statewide Pedestrian System Plan will recommend policies, projects, and programs that will help make walking and rolling safe, convenient and desirable for all in Minnesota.

The plan will include recommendations for state, regional and local partners from transportation engineers to city councils to public health practitioners

Whether you walk to work, to the corner store, or just for fun, we want to know what makes walking enjoyable or challenging for you. Where would you like to walk? How far do you walk? What would make walking easier for you?

Tell them what YOU think. Please take the pedestrian surveys on what makes your community walkable (Deadline: Oct 25) and features to improve your walking experience (Deadline:Nov 29).

Join the open discussion, and learn more about the project today!

      Evaluation Update ~ REDCap

MDH has decided to delay the launch of the REDCap data collection system until we have a new data manager on board to provide assistance as we transition into the new SHIP 4 data collection method.  In the meantime, we are developing step by step guides that will walk grantees through the process of what grantees need to know when REDCap is rolled out, including training videos and webinars. These materials will likely be shared with grantees in the next few months. Thanks for your patience in the meantime. You can continue to track partner site data using the new SHIP 4 forms that are posted on the SHIP Evaluation website. A guidance document (look up table) for reporting on SHIP 4 strategies is also posted for your review. Here's a link to MDH's SHIP Evaluation page here.

If you have questions, please reach out to MDH's SHIP evaluation staff at:  Health.SHIP.eval@state.mn.us
