Basecamp Tip ~ Filter by Keyword

New in Basecamp: Filter by keyword to quickly find what you're looking for!

When you have a lot of active Basecamp projects (or even just one project with a lot of stuff in it) it can be tricky to dig up that old file, text document, or discussion. You might not remember which project it’s in, or exactly what it was called — especially if someone else posted it. To help you in those situations, they’ve added a lightning-fast new way to dig up that needle in the haystack. Check out their search tip here

Tool ~ Check Sheet ~ Minnesota Department of Health

Are you looking for a simple measurement tool?

A Check-Sheet is an easy way to record data to detect and display patterns.  The first step is to define the condition that will be observed.  For example, you want to track how many times day care providers are contacted before they agree to attend a LANA training.  The second step is identify who, what and how long the data is collected.   For this example, the SHIP coordinator collects data for one month on number of calls made to the provider, materials sent and the date when provider consents to training.  The third step is to design the check sheet that has all of the columns/rows that are needed to gather the correct information.    In this example, there would be locations for calls made, days/dates, materials sent and consent given.  The final step is to collect the data and make adjustments as needed.  For example, the results indicate that day care providers do not consent to training until they review the materials.  The SHIP coordinator may then want to send out materials first before contacting the day care providers.  For more information on how to develop a check sheet, please review the MDH QI Toolbox here.
