Governor Dayton's Council on the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday invite the public to "Where Do We Go From Here? Reconciliation, Redemption and Justice for a Beloved Community." Remarks by Governor Dayton, keynote address by Minnesota Supreme Court Justice Wilhelmina Wright, emcee Angela Davis, musical performances by Sounds of Blackness honoring Ramsey County Commissioner Toni Carter. Monday, January 19, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m at the Leonard Center, Macalester College, 125 Snelling Avenue, St. Paul.


Pathways to Postsecondary 2.0

The final summit in this series will take place on Friday, February 6, at the Dakota County Technical College. In addition to round table discussions, focused topic and breakout sessions, the summit will feature Joel Vargas from Jobs for the Future. Mr. Vargas wll addess the importance of early college credit programming for students historically underrepresented in higher education. He will provide a national context to the work taking place in Minnesota and share promising strategies being used around the country.


Film Festival Featuring Selected Works by Kid Filmmakers!

Join us for the first-ever Minnesota screening of the 90-Second Newbery Film Festival. A 90-Second Newbery film tells the story of a Newbery Award winner or honor book in 90 seconds or less. Kid filmmakers from across Minnesota-—and around the world—submitted works to the contest. The festival is free and open to the public. Registration is not required, but please RSVP to let us know you plan to attend. To add the the fun, the event will be co-hosted by madcap authors James Kennedy (The Order of Odd-Fish) and Kelly Barnhill (The Witch’s Boy). Visit the 90 second Newbery site to learn more.
