Hennepin County asks for community input on Lowry Avenue Northeast

Hennepin County is hosting a public workshop to gather community input on a redevelopment plan for Lowry Avenue Northeast. The workshop will be held on Thursday, February 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Edison High School media room, located at 700 22nd Avenue Northeast. The workshop will begin with a brief presentation followed by community input activities on transportation and economic development opportunities at the six intersections. There will also be opportunities to provide feedback on bicycle and pedestrian recommendations for the entire Northeast segment of the corridor.

The county, in collaboration with the City of Minneapolis and project partners, is working on a plan for Lowry Avenue Northeast. A planning study will focus on the Lowry Avenue intersections of Marshall Street, Second Street, University Avenue, Washington Street, Monroe Street and Central Avenue, looking for redevelopment opportunities and road improvements for pedestrians, cyclists and drivers.

The plan will also look at possible improvements to bicycle and pedestrian access within existing roadway between Marshall Street and Stinson Boulevard.
