Sheriff leads the law enforcement discussion at PainPillProblem

panel2

Sheriff Rich Stanek led the law enforcement panel at PainPillProblem, a statewide summit to prevent prescription medication abuse. Approximately 1,000 stakeholders gathered at the University of Minnesota on August 25th to identify solutions to address the issue.

“Too many people are dying every day across Minnesota from opioid overdose. Those deaths are preventable. I urge every family and community leader to learn what they can do to educate our youth and to take proactive steps to prevent addiction and overdose,” said Sheriff Stanek.

Sheriff Stanek reminds residents to properly dispose of medicines at our drop box locations.

Zero Waste at Lk Minnetonka

We join the Lake Minnetonka Conservation District in its challenge to all lake users to be proactive and leave behind Zero Waste on the lake and shorelines.  Send a photo to info@lmassociation.org and show your conservation efforts.

  • Plan ahead & bring garbage bags so that litter never touches the water
  • Learn locations of public restrooms

As always, the Sheriff’s Office urges you to designate a sober boat operator prior to your day on the lake.

History is made at HCSO

sizer

Congratulations Detention Lieutenant Brent Sizer. He celebrated his 31st year with the Sheriff’s Office and that means he's the longest tenured detention deputy in the history of our agency!  Lt. Sizer works in the Hennepin County Jail and is a valuable member of the Sheriff’s Office management team at the facility. When asked about advice that he would give to new personnel, Lt. Sizer said, “Learn all you possibly can about your chosen profession and excel at what you do.”

Thank you for a successful National Night Out
