Governor Dayton was in Mankato today discussing the passage of the bonding bill.
One of the highlights: the Verizon Wireless Civic Center.
Speaking in front of the arena, representatives from both sides of the aisle discussed the importance of the Civic Center to the Mankato area and how it will impact the economy.
After years of failed bonding attempts at the state capital, Governor Dayton signed the 14 and a half million-dollar funding into law this session. [Read More]

Custom Products of Litchfield Inc. is investing more than $2 million and projecting to add 31 jobs in an expansion of its manufacturing plant.
The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development is assisting with cost of the expansion, with $231,000 from the Minnesota Job Creation Fund.
The Job Creation Fund, which was first proposed by Gov. Mark Dayton to encourage job growth in Minnesota, will award $24 million in business incentives that were approved in the 2013 legislative session. [Read More]

Suburban St. Paul officials told Gov. Mark Dayton on Monday that communities across the state need more money and training to prepare for the possible catastrophe of a train loaded with volatile oil exploding as it rumbles through Minnesota.
With the volume of North Dakota oil rolling through Minnesota continuing to grow, the need for greater coordination, training and preparedness is becoming increasing desperate, they told the governor in Little Canada at the first of several meetings scheduled for cities from Moorhead to Winona in the coming week.
