SAINT PAUL, Minn. –Twin Cities Public Television (tpt), the PBS affiliate serving the Minneapolis and St. Paul area, has partnered with the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV), the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs and the Minnesota National Guard to bring viewers three new captivating documentaries that provide a look into the lives and experiences of Minnesota’s military members and Veterans.
Crossing the Threshold Most Veterans return to their homes and families in good health and contribute to their communities. For some Veterans, though, the journey home is more difficult. Everyone can support returning Veterans as they integrate back into the community and work. It starts with listening. Learn from Veterans and communities helping Veterans experiencing homelessness find their place back home. This program is part of Veterans Coming Home, a national public media effort to support Veterans made possible by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. Made in partnership with MACV. Women Serving in War From the war zone to life back home: Three generations of Minnesota's military women share their stories of service from World War II to Vietnam to Afghanistan. This program is produced with the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs. Airtime: November 9 on tpt MN at 7 p.m.
Through a Soldier's Eye A small contingency of soldiers from the Minnesota National Guard traveled to Italy to pay their respects and witness battle sites the 34th Infantry fought for during World War II. Follow along as a Minnesota soldier travels to Italy to see land his great grandfather fought for during World War II.
