Minnesota Celebrates Month of the Military Child

MilitaryChild

In April Minnesotans come together to honor and recognize the children of those who serve, past and present. Military-connected youth throughout the state will be recognized for the sacrifices they make while a parent serves in the Armed Forces.

"I'm proud of our tradition here in Minnesota, as well as the concept behind this program which recognizes the sacrifices and service of our military children. Let's come together to honor these children this month. I guarantee it will impact them more than you ever realize, for years to come," said Larry Shellito, Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs.

Governor Dayton has proclaimed April as Month of the Military Child in the State of Minnesota and as a special recognition military children and children of Veterans can be registered to receive a letter of thanks from the Governor.
