Boat Decontamination

Optional Hot-Water/ High- Pressure Decontamination Trainings Offered this Summer

The DNR is offering three free trainings this summer for lake service provider businesses interested in becoming trained in aquatic invasive species hot-water/high-pressure decontamination methods. Attendees will learn proper methods in decontaminating equipment and receive hands-on practice in decontaminating boats using DNR hot-water/high-pressure decontamination units.

Due to the hands-on nature and equipment logistics required for this type of class, the trainings have limited space and will require pre-registration.

Businesses that attend and complete the training will have their business name included on the DNR website in a list of businesses trained in DNR hot-water/high-pressure decontamination methods.

Trainings are scheduled in the afternoons following basic aquatic invasive species permit trainings for Lake Service Providers this summer:

  1. June 13 (1:00-4:30 p.m.), Ottertail, MN
  2. June 19 (1:00-4:30 p.m.), Brainerd, MN
  3. August 1 (1:00-4:30 p.m.), St. Paul, MN

Although decontamination trainings are scheduled following basic AIS trainings for lake service providers that do not yet have their permits, the registration is seperate.

For more information or to register, contact AIS Training Coordinator, April Rust via email or at 651.259.5706/1.888.MINN.DNR.
