State launches next step in health care reform

The Minnesota Department of Human Services called for feedback on health care purchasing reforms that will build upon the successful Integrated Health Partnerships (IHP) program, an initiative designed to reward providers who deliver improved health care outcomes in Minnesota. Feedback on the plan will be accepted until 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, 2017, and public meetings began on Monday, Nov. 20, 2017. Governor's Office News Release: Lt. Governor Tina Smith, Human Services Commissioner Emily Piper Announce $16.6 million in Grants to Address Opioid Crisis

Lt Governor Tina Smith and Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) Commissioner Emily Piper visited Wayside Recovery Center in St. Louis Park to announce $16.6 million in grants to combat the state’s opioid crisis. DHS staffer recognized for work with people who have developmental disabilities and mental illness

Ryan Trihey, a direct support professional with the Minnesota Department of Human Services, has been honored by the National Association for the Dually Diagnosed (NADD). He received the organization’s prestigious Direct Support Professional Award for Excellence on Nov. 3 during NADD’s annual conference in Charlotte, N.C. Governor's Office News Release: Lt. Governor Tina Smith, Commissioner Emily Piper Hold Town Hall Meetings around state on MinnesotaCare Buy-In Proposal

Lt. Governor Tina Smith and DHS Commissioner Emily Piper held town hall meetings around the state in November on the proposed "MinnesotaCare Buy-In." Additional meetings will be scheduled throughout December. More information about the proposal and the St. Cloud meeting are in a Governor's Office news release.


Services for children with autism, related conditions focus of Bemidji, Minneapolis, Marshall meetings

The Minnesota Department of Human Services hosted meetings in Bemidji and Minneapolis and will have another in Marshall to provide information about a benefit available for children and youth under age 21 with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and related conditions. The benefit is available through Medical Assistance and MinnesotaCare. The meetings are part of a series of forums around the state. Child Support Task Force seeks public comments

Minnesota’s child support programs serve more than 245,000 children and more than 352,000 parents. The Child Support Task Force is seeking public comments at a series of meetings around the state, including one in Coon Rapids on Nov. 29.
