Report: Transportation Program to Generate 15,000 Jobs

The Transportation for Economic Development (TED) program -- aimed at tying transportation investments to business and job growth throughout Minnesota -- is expected to create or retain 15,000 jobs over the next three years, according to a new report. Since it was started in 2010, TED has funneled $75M into 30 transportation projects. The program is a joint initiative from the Minnesota Department of Transportation and DEED.

DEED’s Vocational Rehabilitation Program -- in partnership with Community Rehabilitation Program partners --expanded a growing statewide network of local placement partnerships that provide a single point of contact for businesses seeking to recruit and hire qualified candidates. There are now 16 partnerships statewide. Since the inception of the Minneapolis Placement Partnership, the South and North Minneapolis VRS offices have seen a significant increase in the number of employment outcomes with a 20 percent increase in employment outcomes for 2012, 12 percent in 2013 and another 10 percent in 2014.
