DEED Awards Broadband Grants Totaling $19.4M

DEED has announced grants of $19.4M to help 17 entities in Minnesota develop broadband infrastructure in their communities. The awards will help serve 6,095 households, 83 community institutions and 150 businesses in unserved or underserved regions of the state.

Spring into job fairs: The Get Jobs Job Fair brings job seekers together with employers recruiting for hundreds of open jobs --everything from entry-level to professional positions. The job fair will be held Thurs., March 26 at the Eagan Civic Arena in Eagan, and no registration is needed for job seekers. The 6th annual Northland Job Fair will feature more than 90 employers from northern Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin having current and future job opportunities. The Northland Job Fair will be held Wed., April 1, at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center in Duluth. Did you know: The Unemployment Insurance program exists primarily to assist unemployed individuals. UI works closely with WorkForce Centers to send email notifications to applicants of job fairs or events for veterans in their communities. Last year email notifications of 13 such events were sent out to about 40,000 applicants.
