Italy's Ambassador Seeks to Grow Trade with Minnesota

There is room for growth in Minnesota's trade relationship with Italy, the country's US Ambassador Claudio Bisogniero told East Twin Cities Metro business leaders. Minn exports to Italy grew 4 percent in 2013 to $254M, according to DEED. Italy is Minnesota's 18th largest export partner. 

Anoka County Gets Funding for Federal Disability Project

The Anoka County Workforce Council has received federal dollars for a disability employment initiative. The Anoka County Board accepted $669,700 from DEED, which administers the federal project. DEED was awarded $2.5M from the U.S. Department of Labor to expand employment opportunities for adults with disabilities.

Secretary of State Office Rolls Out Website Redesign Today
The Minnesota Secretary of State's Office launches a newly designed Business Services website that will incorporate a fresh look, improved functionality and updated features. The site will facilitate business filings and order placement, and include an online filing and order application for both Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) and Central Notification System (CNS).

DEED has awarded $475K in Women and High-Wage, High-Demand, Nontraditional Jobs Grant Program grants to eight organizations that will prepare and place women in new career opportunities. The program is an outgrowth of the Women’s Economic Security Act, signed into law by Governor Mark Dayton to break down barriers to economic success faced by some Minnesota women.
