Mining employees

Home to the Iron Range, it's well known that mining is a critical industry to the northeastern Minnesota economy. The region has developed highly specialized infrastructure and the workforce needed to make best use of rich natural resources. The Minnesota Employment Review says the mining sector and related occupations are projected to grow by more than 12 percent between 2010-2020 -- and these projections have been surpassed. Mining Industry Day, the premier event for entry-level to highly skilled mining industry job seekers, aims to keep professionals and newcomers in the pipeline. Mining Industry Day 2015 will be held 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Fri., January 30, Minnesota Discovery Center, 1005 Discovery Dr., Chisholm. Individuals requiring an accommodation to attend this event can call Marla Beaty, DEED business services representative, Grand Rapids, Hibbing, and Virginia WorkForce Centers, at 218-231-8589.
