Investors from around the world ­are vying for a piece of Rochester. In the district targeted for Mayo’s expansion and for upgrades to public infrastructure, the number of real estate transactions has doubled in the last three years, with one-third of those selling for at least twice their estimated value, records show.

There are 32,519 post-9/11 Gulf War veterans in Minnesota, according to DEED. An expert panel will discuss challenges and solutions to re-hiring veterans on Tues., Nov. 18.

DEED Awards 12 MJSP Grants to Train Minnesota Workers
DEED has awarded grants totaling $1,496,784 under the MJSP to train 2,225 current workers and new hires. Since 2011, $27.6M has been awarded to train 32,269 workers, leveraging $57M in private funding.

Export Assistance Grants Available from MTO
DEED has been awarded more than $470K by the SBA for its State Trade and Export Promotion Program (STEP). MTO anticipates awarding matching grants of up to $7,500 each for small and medium businesses using those funds. Also, $300K in state funds will be available for companies new to exporting. Greater Minnesota businesses new to market will have priority for grants. 

TEAM Industries Plans Detroit Lakes Expansion

The Bagley company that specializes in manufacturing drivetrains and other components for vehicles, is planning a $7.8M expansion at its production facility and adding 16 jobs. DEED is assisting with $174,900 from the Job Creation Fund.
