A special project -- Trades Up -- seeks to develop a customized, sustainable training path for people seeking a construction industry career. Trades Up will train and recruit 140 low-income women, people of color and veterans to enter apprenticeship programs and help alleviate the need for skilled workers for the construction trades. Trades Up is funded through a $365,873 special project grant from the Minnesota Job Skills Partnership Program. St. Paul College, Minn Department of Labor and Industry, St. Paul Building & Construction Trades Council and 16 industry partners are also Trades Up partners.
