Custom Products of Litchfield Expanding
Maker of safety cabs is adding 31 jobs at manufacturing facility and investing over $2M. DEED is assisting with $231,000 from the Minnesota Job Creation Fund. DEED has awarded more than $11.5M to 19 companies since the Job Creation Fund was launched in January. Those companies have committed to creating nearly 1,300 new jobs and investing $217 million to expand.

Recently, Gov. Mark Dayton issued Executive Order 14-14, directing state government agencies to increase their employment of Minnesotans with disabilities. Over the last 15 years, the proportion of Minnesotans with disabilities employed by the state has declined. Five percent of federal workers are individuals with disabilities. Minnesota’s new target of 7 percent will make the state a regional leader for hiring people with disabilities. In addition, DEED's Vocational Rehabilitation Services unit helps people with disabilities prepare for, find and keep a job, and live as independently as possible. Here's more.
