First Quarter Exports Climb 2 percent
Minnesota exports of manufactured, agricultural and mining products reached $5 billion in the first quarter, a 2 percent increase from the same quarter a year ago. Exports grew 11 percent in the Middle East and 16 percent in the Australia-Pacific region, both newer markets for Minnesota products.  

DEED Awards Cleanup Funding for 15 Redevelopment Projects
DEED awarded $3.7M in grants to clean up or investigate contamination on 15 sites in Minneapolis, Mankato Chanhassen, Duluth, Fosston, Golden Valley, Newport, Ramsey County, Rochester and White Bear Lake.

DEED was recently awarded $350,000 from the USDOL to improve services to low-income older workers through the Senior Community Service Employment Program DEED will use the one-time funding to focus on improving unsubsidized job placements through increased employer engagement. SCSEP provides part-time, community service-based job training for low-income, unemployed individuals 55 and older.
