DEED Awards Three Grants to St. Cloud Technical and Community College to Match Skills with Business Needs
DEED awarded $950,000 in grants under its Minnesota Job Skills Partnership to St. Cloud Technical and Community College to train hundreds of employees from Talon Innovations, WFSI Inc. and New Flyer of America Inc. in St. Cloud.

Labor Market Information

In December employment in the St. Cloud MSA grew by 1.1 percent over the year with the addition of 1,177 jobs. Private employers were responsible for the growth while government lost about 50 jobs.

The unemployment rate was 4.0 percent compared to 4.2 percent statewide and 6.6 percent for the nation (not seasonally adjusted) in November. St. Cloud’s unemployment rate has been on a downward trajectory, dropping seven tenths of a percentage point over the year in November.
