The Water Cycle

August 2015

Water Summit Registration

The summit is back—bigger and better than last year’s inaugural event.  With an awesome lineup of expert panels, the CEOs of Ecolab and Pentair, and a full day of great topics on the summit agenda, you’ll want to sign up early.  Last year’s event sold out. The venue is the University of Minnesota’s prestigious Humphrey School of Public Affairs. This year, we are fortunate to have a steering committee of large and small firms, along with the great organizational talents of Jeremy Lenz of Lenz Consulting guiding summit planning.  We’re also grateful to have the generous sponsorships of Ecolab, Dow Water & Process Solutions, Pentair, The Nature Conservancy, Faegre Baker Daniels, GREATER MSP and DEED/Minnesota Trade Office.  Registration information and other details are here.

Next Roundtable: WATEC and Israel's Water Sector

WATEC, Israel’s premier trade show and conference on water technologies and environmental control, takes place this year in Tel Aviv, Israel, on Oct. 13-15. The local Chamber and Minnesota Trade Office participated in WATEC in 2009 and encourage you to consider the 2015 event.

The American Israel Chamber of Commerce of Minnesota is partnering with the Minnesota Trade Office to promote a Minnesota delegation to WATEC to support interested Minnesota businesses.  Join us for this briefing and luncheon to learn how the conference could open doors for you and your company, and to hear about Israel’s cutting-edge water technology sector. Go here to register.

Hold the date/register for future water roundtables:

Oct.9:  Russia’s water sector

Dec. 1: Commercialization of Emerging Water Technologies

WEFTEC

The German American Chamber is sponsoring an International Night Reception on Sept. 28 for participants in WEFTEC 2015 in Chicago.

Editor's Note

Water Cycle was launched in late spring 2014, just as the first summit was happening.  Just over a year later the newsletter is read by more than 1,800 subscribers—a real testament to the broad and growing interest in the state’s water technology scene.  Thanks for reading!

Have a story idea or industry news to share?  Interested in hosting a future edition of the water roundtable?  Feel free to get in touch with me at steve.riedel@state.mn.us.

Troubled Waters

It seems the organizers of the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro could use your help.  Click here for NPR’s report about polluted venues for the swimming events.
