Admin Driving Diversity and Inclusion Efforts in State Procurement

As part of Governor Dayton's Diversity and Inclusion Council, Admin established the Office of Equity in Procurement to ensure all Minnesotans have equal opportunity to secure state contracts. Through conversations with community and business leaders and state agencies, Admin has been working to improve state purchasing and contracting processes for all. But we need your help to make it happen.

Learn how you can help make a difference in your agency using our What Agencies Can Do and 10 Steps for Diverse Spending handouts. You can also contact Office of Equity in Procurement staff for additional support.

Electric Vehicle Charging Station

Electric Vehicle Charging Stations on the Capitol Complex

Admin is committed to working with agency partners to shrink state government's carbon footprint. As part of that commitment, we're excited to announce the introduction of additional electric vehicle charging stations in the Capitol area! Here's a current snapshot:

  • Two charging stations in Ramp F at the Transportation Building, one for public parking and one for contract parking
  • Two charging stations in the 14th Street Ramp at the Stassen Building, both for contract parking
  • One charging station in Lot C on University Avenue and Rice Street, for public parking

Charging station parking spaces were offered to Admin's parking contract holders and were claimed quickly. Charging stations are also being installed in the Andersen Parking Ramp this week. If you have interest in utilizing an electric vehicle charging station for your car, contact us and let us know at Admin.Info@state.mn.us

Advancing Sustainability: We strive to meet our customers' needs by spearheading sustainability efforts in state government. Admin continuously seeks to make state facilities more energy efficient, while also affirming a commitment to clean energy technology. For instance, the department recently released an RFP for solar gardens to power state buildings and is also working to make the state's fleet of vehicles as fuel efficient as possible through the purchase of more fuel-efficient vehicles, and the use of E85, data analytics, and other methods.

Minnesota's Safety Success Continues

Thank you to all state agencies for participating in the ninth annual State Safety and Loss Control Conference. At the conference, safety professionals around state government celebrated continuing success.

In fiscal year 2015, state agencies were successful at reducing state employee injuries by five percent, meeting goals set by Governor Dayton and achieving an overall reduction of over 25 percent since 2011. This keeps our employees safe and saves agencies money; recent estimates have shown nearly $8 million in cost avoidance of future workers' compensations costs.
