West Bloomfield Parks and Recreation launches numerous new fall youth programs
Additions include "Adventure Park Club Climb", "Parent and Kid Excursions", and "Teen Sports Conditioning"
WEST BLOOMFIELD, August 3, 2015 —The West Bloomfield Parks and Recreation Commission
(WBPRC) is excited to announce the addition of more than fifteen new youth programs for the fall season.
“There are a number of new and returning
programs that will appeal to all age groups and interests,” said Ashley Stokes,
recreation programmer for WBPRC. “We want to continue to grow and adjust to the
needs of our community. In doing so, we have made adjustments to our youth
programs with our community’s feedback in mind; including adding additional
preschool programs, more evening offerings and parent and child outings.”
For the sports lovers, participants can look forward to our
“Teen Sports Conditioning” program, held at Cycle & Row. Offered once a week, this circuit training program
focuses on aerobic and anaerobic exercises in a safe and fun environment.
The newly
instated “Parent and Kid Excursions”
are exciting day trips that allow for some one-on-one
time. Parent-child pairs can look forward to playing
paintball, cooking at Crispelli's or
becoming a
puppeteer for the day.
For the
thrill-seekers, WBPRC has
partnered with the Adventure Park of West Bloomfield to host “Club Climb”.
The climb runs on Fridays throughout September and October. We also have a live animal show featuring “Bats
of the World” on October 23rd inside our Nature
Room at the Recreation Activities Center.
The Nutty
Scientist programs have expanded to add a “Nutty
Scienceful Art” program with classes beginning in September and November. This program allows
children to create artistic projects while learning the science behind their
creations.
Other
new programs include “Mommy and Me
Paper Crafting”, “Zombietron
Workshop”, “SNAG Golf” and “Mommy and
Me Hikes”.
Registration
will be open to the public beginning August 3rd. For complete details on our fall programs and
