to meet April 14 in Lansing


The Board of State Canvassers will meet at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 14 in fourth-floor training room of the Austin Building, 430 W. Allegan St., Lansing.

Included on the agenda will be:

  • Consideration of meeting minutes for approval.
  • Consideration of whether a recall petition filed on March 22 by Ryan Flamand states factually and clearly each reason for the recall of Berrien County Treasurer Bret Witkowski.
  • Consideration of whether a recall petition filed on April 2 by Emil Mattson, Jr. states factually and clearly each reason for the recall of Chippewa County Sheriff Robert Savoie.
  • NEW - Consideration of initiative petition form submitted for approval by the Committee to Ban Fracking in Michigan, P.O. Box 490, Charlevoix, Michigan 49720.
  • Such other and further business as may be properly presented to the Board.

Attending and speaking at a Board of State Canvassers meeting

A person may address the board on any agenda item at the end of the meeting. A person who wishes to address the board on an agenda item at the time the item is being discussed must submit a written request to the chairperson of the board prior to the opening of the meeting. People addressing the board are allotted three minutes.
