Onward to 2016!
Secretary of State Ruth Johnson offers her best wishes to all Michigan residents for a happy holiday
season and a healthy and prosperous New Year.
Our team in the Secretary of State’s Office has had such a great
year that we wanted to look back at the year’s accomplishments – from continuing
to improve customer service and consumer
protection and safety to protecting the integrity of
Michigan elections.
Among our successes for the people of Michigan in 2015, we expanded the MI-TIME Line service that more than 2 million customers have used to conveniently manage their wait times, launched initiatives to promote teen and aging driver safety and helped reach a new milestone of 54 percent of Michigan adults on the organ donor registry.
I’m proud of all that our team has been able to accomplish with our partners both within and outside state government. Talk about results. Please take a look.
Secretary of State Ruth Johnson recently thanked customers and staff for their generosity during the 2015 Harvest Gathering food drive.
“Both our customers and our staff donated food and funds to help their neighbors in need this fall, donating seven tons of groceries to area food banks,” Johnson said. “I am tremendously proud of how they have stepped up during a season of giving to share what they have with others.”
Johnson also noted that the need for food donation is year-round in a column sent to newspapers across the state.
Statewide, Secretary of State offices collected almost $1,500 and more than 14,000 pounds of food across the state. Customers also mailed additional funds directly to the Food Bank Council of Michigan.
