Ice Jams & Flooding Possible on the Grand River in Ottawa County

The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office of Emergency Management and the Grand Rapids National Weather Service are closely monitoring the level of the Grand River at Robinson Township due to a possible ice jam on the river at Grand Haven. As of this morning (1-14-16) the level rose to flood stage and the National Weather Service issued a flood warning for Robinson Township. Residents along the river who experience flooding issues should call their local town hall to report this. If there is an immediate threat to life safety, call 911. The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office of Emergency Management will continue to monitor the river throughout the winter.
