Connecting Business with Job Seekers

Mid-Michigan Talent Connection Executive Director, Marcus LeVeque, announces the organization's next quarterly networking event will be held on the second Thursday after Labor Day (September 11) from 1:45 pm - 6:00 pm at 2600 Bennett Road, Okemos. The event is open to the public and there is no charge to attend.

LeVeque explained that the Mid-Michigan Talent Connection event differs from a typical "job fair" because of the seven workshops topics that include: success through networking, employer internship training, interview tips and follow up, and portfolio development and a keynote speech. Due to the many available activities, he suggests that attendees arrive early and stay to experience all of the benefits the event has to offer.

Bob Trezise, President and CEO of the Lansing Economic Area Partnership (LEAP), will deliver the keynote speech, "Lansing: Looking Forward."

"With partners like LEAP, the employers that have already signed on to be actively involved at the event, and Prima Civitas with the team of Michigan Shifting Gears interns to help coordinate the event, I am excited to see the results on September 11," says LeVeque.

Prima Civitas is actively involved in the planning and execution of the event as it addresses talent connectivity, benefiting job seekers, employers and the community overall.

Employers participating in the event include: Jackson National Life, Speedway, Emergent Biosolutions, Burcham Hills, The Christman Company, TechSmith, Trilogy, and TruGroup among others.
