On
Tuesday, April 22, Northwest Michigan Works! and Northwest Michigan Council of Governments will be hosting a IT
Career Fair at Northwestern Michigan College’s Hagerty Conference
Center from 4p.m.-7p.m.
Employers
will be recruiting qualified candidates for current open positions in: Network
Administration, Web Development, Tech Support, Database Administration, and
Software Development.
Registration
is required by Thursday, April 17. Registering in advance allows staff to match
you to available jobs and ensures immediate entry into the Employer Exhibit
Room on the afternoon of the event.
Two
step registration process:
Step
1: Complete and submit the online form. All fields require
a response.
Step
2: Email your resume to jobfair@nwm.cog.mi.us
Walk-in
registration will be accepted at the event, but will not grant or guarantee you
immediate access to the Employer Exhibit Room.

summit on June 13, 2014 at Ford Field in Detroit. This

is currently searching for a Maintenance Manager and a Spiral Mill Manager for
their Flint facilities.
The
Maintenance Manager will coordinate all
activities with the maintenance organization, review work orders in conjunction
with maintenance personnel to determine work priorities, schedule repair,
maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure
continuous production operations, and prepare the department budget, while
monitoring the expenditure of funds.
The
Spiral Mill Manager will directly
supervise up to 20 employees, while carrying out the responsibilities in
accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include planning mill operations, establishing priorities and
sequences for manufacturing processes, training and assisting operators as
needed, and reviewing production and operating reports to resolve operational,
manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent
operational delays.

Amway is currently hiring
for a Maintenance Mechanic, Electrician, and Facilities Electrician positions
in Ada, MI.
The
Maintenance Mechanic will be a member of
the Central Maintenance Department and will report to the Supervisor
of 2nd shift. The Mechanic will be responsible for equipment
reliability, and includes repairs for all mechanical equipment supporting
manufacturing and production operations, general fabrication and other repair/maintenance
related duties which are the responsibility of the Central Maintenance
Department for the Ada complex and other off-site facilities. This
includes preventative maintenance, as well as troubleshooting and repair of all
the equipment, systems and processes contained within these facilities.
The
Electrician will be a member of
the Manufacturing Maintenance team and will report to the Supervisor
on 2nd shift. The Electrician is responsible for performing a
variety of functions such as installing, maintaining and repairing electrical
systems, devices and components applicable to production and production related
equipment.
The
Facilities
Electrician
will be a member of the Central Maintenance Department and will report to the
Facilities Maintenance Group Leader on 2nd shift. The Electrician will be
responsible for identifying, organizing, prioritizing, completing, and
documenting assigned work for facility related work (buildings and equipment as
opposed to production related equipment). They are responsible for
compliance with Federal, State and local codes, as well as company and
department policies and standards, along with related technical specifications.
